How Intentionality Shapes My Financial, Personal, and Professional Life
As I step into 2025, my power word for the year is intentional. This mindset will guide how I spend my money, my time, and my energy—ensuring that every decision aligns with my values, priorities, and long-term goals. Here’s how I plan to live more intentionally this year:
Intentional Finances: Spending Smarter and Saving More
Debt reduction and financial stability are at the top of my list. This means cutting back on unnecessary expenses and travel that isn’t work-related, giving me the freedom to focus on growing my business. One big change I’ve embraced is saying goodbye to hair coloring. Not only does this decision help me save money, but it also fosters self-love and breaks away from societal pressures to invest in beauty products to feel “worthy.”
I’m also making an effort to support companies that align with my values and community. While I recognize I won’t completely avoid Amazon, I’ve deleted the app and will only shop there when absolutely necessary.
Intentional Time: Focusing on Empowerment and Balance
Time is one of our most precious resources, and I’m determined to spend it wisely. This year, I’ll prioritize relationships that empower and support me while stepping back from those that leave me feeling drained. I also plan to spend less time scrolling through social media and more time outdoors, reconnecting with nature.
Intentional Health: Moving and Eating Mindfully
Health is another area where intentionality will play a big role. Last year, I cut back on alcohol, and I plan to continue that trend. My focus will be on moving my body regularly—not through intense workouts, but through activities like walking, yoga, and stretching that promote mobility and wellness.
With a family history of high cholesterol, I’ll also be mindful about my diet, reducing red meat and sodium and avoiding processed foods. This will require more intentional meal planning, but I’m ready for the challenge.
Intentional Photography: Aligning My Passion with Purpose
I’ve decided to step away from family photography to focus on what truly brings me joy: portraits, couples, and elopements. In my work, I aim to shoot with purpose, being more selective about the images I capture rather than overshooting. I’ll also be intentional with my business investments, focusing only on educational opportunities, gear, and tools that truly enhance my craft.
Wrapping It All Together
Intentional living isn’t about perfection—it’s about making choices that align with my values and lead to a more fulfilling life. By being thoughtful about my finances, relationships, health, and work, I hope to create a year that feels meaningful and purposeful.
2025 is my year to live with intention—and I’m ready to see where it takes me.
