From Skulls to Skid Row: An Unconventional Elopement at the Westgate Las Vegas
When you think of eloping in Vegas, the usual image of neon lights and quick ceremonies comes to mind. But when Rachel Bolan, the bassist from the legendary metal band Skid Row, and his bride decided to tie the knot, they knew they wanted something unforgettable—and far from traditional. Traveling all the way from the East Coast, this couple chose a Halloween-themed suite in the Westgate Las Vegas Resort & Casino, a hotel steeped in history as the former Las Vegas Hilton, where icons like Elvis and Sinatra once graced the stage.
The suite was nothing short of gothic paradise. With a life-sized Pennywise lurking in the corner, black lace curtains cascading over the windows, and gothic thrones perfect for the bride and groom, every detail set the scene for a rock-and-roll love story. A banquet-style table fit for a haunted feast and a chilling wall of skulls added to the dramatic, moody vibe.
This session was pure magic. The bride and groom embraced their gothic vision with ease, and their untraditional love shone through in every shot. We captured moments on those thrones, standing by the eerie banquet table, and soaking in the rock-and-roll essence of the room. The combination of gothic and metal made this one of the most unique and fun elopements I’ve had the pleasure of photographing.
For those who dream of doing things differently and want their photos to reflect the boldness of their love, this Vegas elopement was a perfect reminder that you don’t have to follow the rules to create something truly beautiful.
Whether you’re channeling Halloween, rock ‘n’ roll, or your own unique style, let’s make magic together.
